Dezi 5 is ramping up the expose you machine. The singer announced the release Thursday evening Jan. 19 by posting a series of Instagram teases that shows Dezi and his dancers posing to what might be the music video for his upcoming single, “Expose You.” The singer said the song will be released on January 24 and a source close to Dezi confirmed that the track was produced by Justin Gabrielli of Night Rides,  and Donny Domino of TFN, and mixed and mastered by #ALL/EVERYTHING’s John Stewart; no other information was available at press time about a specific release date for the Expose You album.

For some fans, that might not be soon enough, as anticipation for the track is high: Dezi is feeding into the frenzy, sharing photos to Instagram of himself inspired by Beyoncé’s “Don’t Hurt Yourself” video, and shots of him and his dancers which has been said to be a teaser for the track’s video, which will be directed by Jeremy Biggers……..

Dezi 5 talks Fashion to the Dallas Observer

For Fashion Notes, the Observer talks with Dallas’ most fashion-forward musicians and recreates some of their coolest outfits.
Lehman gathers fashion inspiration from both haute couture and other musicians known for their unique style such as Elton John, Michael Jackson, Grace Jones and Lady Gaga. “When I go out I am always on stage so I must make sure that I don’t look like everybody else,” Lehman says. “I learned that from watching Chanel documentaries.”

“The power of 5” Dezi 5 gets featured in the Dallas Voice!

I always wanted to be a singer growing up, but I was afraid to sing because I thought “no one wants a gay singer.” I was afraid because I had been talked about in school and at home. I still sometimes feel like that awkward kid. As an entertainer I’ve broken barriers in a sexist city as a homosexual man of color and according to the Dallas Observer I was voted “Best Live Act.”

I am so honored to be featured in the Christmas edition of the Dallas Voice. Thanks Arnold Wayne Jones for allowing the community to know my story. This is the best Christmas present ever…… thanks Adrian Kolby for the find

Dezi 5 wins “Best Live Act” at the Dallas Observer Music Awards

Picture taken by Mike Brooks for the Dallas Observer

Dezi 5 won Best Live Act at the 28th Dallas Observer Music Awards and of all the nominations I received, I am most honored to win this particular one. Since grade school I have always been known as the show stopper. I’ve always done everything with concept, precision, and integrity since the moment I saw the “Shake a tail feather” scene from the movie “what’s love got to do with it.” I learned from the Ray Charles movie you have create a flair in your voice from the “mess around” scene. The moment that Billie Holiday sang “all of me” at the club for her audition on “Lady sings the blues.” The countless Michael Jackson, Janet and Madonna concerts that I study and the freedom of Freddy Mercury. I study Beyoncé on the regular and I am a huge advocate of Lady Gaga. I mean I could go on but I’m sooooooooooooooo happy.
